These are Polish Crested chickens. They've also been nick named Phyllis Dillers and Mop Tops. These birds are terrible at egg laying, have little meat so they are basically a bird to throw into the flock for show. The tend to act a little dumb but I think part of the acting is because the head bonnet grows so big it covers the eyes and they react slowly. I had a pair of these in the north GA mountains so I was pretty excited to be given these two hens.

Birds of a feather ...
