The Mouse Hunt!

OK, I don't keep it a secret that I am not too crazy about cats. I don't hate them and I have owned them before. I have just gotten to a point where I am not fond of them .... SO, I was at my second livestock auction and there was a woman and two children outside the auction trying to give away two cats. My friend said to me "You should take them. You'll have lots of grain in the barn and they'll help with the mice". I promptly said "NO!" A few hours later a woman walked into the barn dragging the cage with the two cats in it. I walked over and said something about her being the sucker. She said "No, I'm not the sucker. I just found the cats outside alone, in the mid day sun, with no water!" They'd been abandoned. Well, I don't care if it's a cat or a pit viper in the cage, an animal should have proper care. They were given water and then my friend and I pulled them into the cooler part of the barn. Again he said I should take them, again I said "NO!" Well, then he reminded me that they were in a decent wire cage too! LOL! OK, OK, yes, I loaded the damned cats up with the other things I bought and they came home to Wandering Bear Farm. They spend each night in a big kennel to keep them from the clutches of the local owl that looks like a condor, and any coyotes. The black one will not stay out of my way so he got christened with the name of Shadow. I have struggled to find an appropriate name for the gray stripped one. For the time being his name is No Name. I get away with that because for those of you that aren't familiar with Colorado there is a town called No Name! We'll see if time gives me the awareness to come up with a better name.
